Paul sailed from the port of Cenchreae near Corinth with Aquila and Priscilla.

At Ephesus Paul went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. They asked him to spend more time with them, but he declined. He promised, ‘I will come back if it is God’s will.’

Paul then got on a ship leaving Aquila and Priscilla in Ephesus.

While Paul was returning, a Jew named Apollos, from Alexandria in Egypt, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. He taught about Jesus but only knew about the baptism of John the Baptist.

When Priscilla and Aquila heard him at the synagogue, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.

Apollos was a gifted speaker, good at debating with people and sharing his faith.

When Apollos decided to go to the region around Corinth to help teach the Christians there, the Christians in Ephesus wrote a letter asking the disciples there to welcome him.

When he arrived, he was a great help to the Christians there. He vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.

He was welcomed by the church there and shared what had happened on his trip.

Again he was welcomed by the Christians there and shared his adventures with them. After spending some time in Antioch, Paul traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.
